Not sure whether it is good or bad, but I just had my top end done on my KTM 2015 XCF-W at 300 hours. I pretty much only ride single track and most of it is pretty tight so I don't spend a lot of time up in high rev's. I did it at 300 hours as a preventative measure. 300 hours omg! My 350 SX-F is at 39.00 from factory and the valves are perfect.
an oil change can be as cheap as $8, if you get the oil on sale and not changing the filter, up to a 100 dollars if a dealer is doing it with the full treatment. What ever motor Im dealing with, I generally monitor closely when its new and establish its own change interval later.
yuJUp. If you want something that will last (and has all the little bugs worked out), look at the Kawasaki KLR 650. Pretty much indestructible. If it's not aggressive enough for you, consider the Honda XR650L - also reliable as a pile of bricks. If that's not elite enough, a BMW F700GS (or 650) should do the trick.
